C63/GLC63 Downpipes Install; The Wrong and Right Way

Almost every C63/GLC63 owner rushes to purchase downpipes only thinking of the power gains and how they will gap F80's and F97's. However they do not realize that installing downpipes the right way requires a lot of labor and is not cheap. Some shops take the cheap and easy route by cutting the factory downpipes after the first cat and then drop them out without removing the transmission. This is the WRONG way to do it. Take it to a professional shop that deals with M177s' and have the transmission dropped and downpipes installed properly. Cutting the factory downpipes requires welding them back if ever needed in the future, might fail some state inspections, and some shops have even sold customer cats without their approval or knowledge. Some owners try to save money after spending thousands on a tune and intake, but the "money saved" might be spent (or a lot more) in the future.
